Walter Odell Sullivent, 88, a longtime resident of Alamogordo and Tularosa, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2008, at the family home in Tularosa, Otero Co., New Mexico.
Mr. Sullivent was born May 30, 1919 in Abilene, Texas to Levi and Effie (Burget) Sullivent. He served in World War II in the U.S. Army. He had been a welder on the Holloman Test Track, and spent many years as a brake and alignment mechanic at Alamo Tire. He was a member of Tularosa Lodge #49, A.F. & A.M. and was a former District Deputy Grand Master.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years Olive Jane Sullivent of the family home; a daughter Jeanette Seddon and her husband Thomas of Salt Lake City; two grandchildren, Matthew Seddon and his wife Heather Stettler of Salt Lake City, and James Seddon and his wife Andrea of San Diego; and two great grandchildren, Sadie Seddon-Stettler of Salt Lake City, and Trevor Jack Seddon of San Diego.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Ernest and Clyde Sullivent; and a sister Minnie Lee Sullivent.
Graveside services will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the Fairview Cemetery in Tularosa with Tularosa Lodge #49, A.F. & A.M. officiating.
Friends may call Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Hamilton-O’Dell Funeral Home in Alamogordo, Otero Co., New Mexico.
